When I was serving my apprenticeship with Barney O’Connor in Tullamore during the 1960’s we would often have to use the services of the Tyrrell Brothers (ironwworks) in Market Square, Tullamore. I was always fascinated by welding. So when this contract arrived on my doorstep I decided that I would learn the TIG welding techniques needed to produce the goods.

I have had 4 training sessions in Athlone to date. Unfortunately, the Athlone Training Center is closed at this time due to the Coronavirus outbreak(12th March).

Fortunately, I do have a good welding machine in my workshop where I can continue to practice.
